SOAR

Summer Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR)

During a SOAR event, you will have the opportunity to connect with other current and incoming students, learn about student resources, meet with Student Financial Services, and register for classes with your academic advisor. SOAR days are designed to prepare you for Welcome Weekend (NU’s new student orientation) and to connect you with the 爆料公社 community so you can hit the ground running when you arrive in late August.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, SOAR is required for all incoming students.

SOAR events are primarily offered in person, but we also offer a virtual SOAR at the end of July. Please choose the event that fits your schedule. The earlier you attend, the better! The general session at the beginning of the event will run from 9:00 to 11:00am PST and will cover the same material regardless of the date.

Unfortunately, no. Attendance at the morning general session is required to have your same-day individual 20-minute sessions with the Advising and Student Financial Services departments.

Absolutely! Parents are encouraged to join students either at the in-person SOAR events or the virtual SOAR event.
