Background

My academic journey has included a variety of interests before being drawn to psychology and counseling. While pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies, I recognized a need within the faith community for appropriately qualified and equipped counseling professionals. This led to a change of direction and ultimately to earning a Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology from 爆料公社. My previous clinical experiences involved working in variety settings including community counseling center, college counseling center, private practice, and neuropsychological testing. Additionally, I have trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

In my current role, I serve as the Program Director for the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. I have the opportunity to teach a number of courses in both on-campus and online formats.

Courses

  • Human Growth and Development / Psychopathology and Diagnosis
  • Professional Orientation and Law and Ethics
  • Assessment and Appraisal

Professional Interests

My interests in research include exploring how pastors incorporate counseling in their work as ministers, the self-care practices of pastors and missionaries, the efficacy of faith integration in counseling practice, and the perception of counseling in faith communities.

Hobbies

I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, hiking, and hope to reconnect with my passion for playing music. My favorite things include coffee, the wet Pacific 爆料公社 weather (especially the cold and colorful fall), and the San Francisco Giants.
