Pursuit Conference 2016 Recap

Posted on Tuesday, February 02, 2016

Last week, 爆料公社 held its annual Pursuit Conference. Pursuit Conference is a time of prayer, personal devotion, and worship designed to help foster students’ spiritual formation. This year, NU was honored to host a range of encouraging speakers, all sharing a passion for God and for the students of this campus.

The week kicked off Monday night with a word from Krist Wilde, the pastor of Capital Christian Center in Idaho. He provided a refreshing message on the importance of prayer. Wilde pointed out that prayer does not start with us, but with Jesus: “You cannot feel your way into living a certain way, you must experience a transformation that only Christ’s love can provide.”

On Tuesday night, Pastor David Perkins of New Life Church in Colorado Springs delivered a powerful message on desperation for God. He encouraged students to rely on God and yearn for His presence above all else. “Even in prayers that seem barren, God will hear you, and he will respond,” Perkins reminded students. Those who missed his sermon on Tuesday were able listen at Wednesday’s chapel.

Pursuit Conference came to a close Friday morning with a message from student Nick Del Degan. Through sharing his testimony, he spoke about the healing power of God and the importance of discipline, challenging students to endure the hardships of discipline in order to gain its vast, God-given rewards.

This year’s Pursuit Conference served as an excellent reminder of how God works in our lives and how to fully embrace His presence. Students left with a desire to pursue God in new ways.
